⚠ Buyer Beware posting rules — read before posting

Welcome to Buyer Beware. Please read and follow these community guidelines before posting.

Core Rules

  1. Be respectful. No personal attacks, harassment, or discriminatory language. Disagree with ideas, not people.
  2. Evidence over anecdote. When making clinical claims, cite your sources. Link to published studies when possible.
  3. No direct sourcing links. Do not post URLs to purchase medications or research chemicals. Vendor discussion belongs in the Vendor Reviews section.
  4. Nothing here is medical advice. This forum is for educational discussion only. Always consult your healthcare provider before making medical decisions.
  5. No vendor shilling. Undisclosed promotional posts will result in an immediate permanent ban. If you have a financial relationship with a vendor, you must disclose it.
  6. Search before posting. Use the search function to check if your question has been answered before creating a new thread.
  7. Stay on topic. Keep posts relevant to the forum section. Off-topic content belongs in the Off-Topic section.
  8. No politics or religion. These topics are divisive and distract from our purpose.

Moderation

Violations will be handled at moderator discretion. First offense: warning. Second offense: 7-day ban. Third offense: permanent ban. Scam/shill posts result in immediate permanent bans.

Questions about the rules? Message a moderator or post in the Public Square.

Agreed, with a caveat about community reputation: it is a lagging indicator. Reports arrive weeks after orders, so a supplier can look excellent for a month after quality has already changed.

I disagree that testing history is decisive. It tells you what a supplier did when they were being watched. Continuity of behaviour under stress — a late shipment, a failed test, a complaint — is more predictive than any run of good results.

Taking the question as asked, rather than the general version of it. The useful checklist is about verifiability rather than presentation. Independent test results commissioned by buyers rather than by the seller, consistency across multiple batches over time rather than one flattering report, a physical address and a company registration that resolve, batch and lot numbers on the actual labelling, and a shipping practice that matches what the material needs. Everything a good-looking website provides is cheap to fake; none of the items above are.

This matches mine closely enough to be worth saying so. Prices dramatically below market are the strongest single signal, and the reason is arithmetic rather than suspicion. Synthesis, testing, and cold-chain shipping have floors. A price well under the floor means something was skipped, and the two things that get skipped are testing and content.
