I read this differently from JessicaH_TX, on substance rather than tone. Small molecule does not automatically mean cheap. Price is set by what the market will bear and by patent life, not by cost of goods, and I would not assume the savings reach patients.

The figures, for anyone assembling their own picture. With resmetirom now available for MASH, combination approaches are being explored, so the standard of care in this area is moving faster than most threads assume.

Ask again with the specifics and you will get a better answer than this one.

Adding the part of the answer the thread has not reached. It is worth asking what the claim would look like if it were false. If nothing would look different, it is not a claim about the world and no amount of discussion will settle it.

One thing that is still open after bri_stats’s answer:

Whether normalised enzymes tell you anything about fibrosis, and what the right follow-up measurement is?

OP back with an update, since a thread like this is useless without one.

For the archive: it took about six weeks rather than the two I expected, and the difference between those two numbers was the whole of my problem.
