Shedding started about three months after the fastest part of my weight loss, which is late enough that I initially blamed something else entirely.

What I am trying to establish is whether the shedding is the drug or the rate of loss, and when it stops.

Tell me what I have not thought of.

Hair loss update related to hair shedding: I experienced noticeable shedding starting around month 4. My dermatologist confirmed it's telogen effluvium — a stress response to rapid weight loss, NOT the medication directly.

What's helping:

  • Biotin 5000mcg daily
  • Adequate protein (130g+/day)
  • Iron and ferritin levels checked and supplemented
  • Collagen peptides 20g daily
  • Minoxidil 5% topical (prescribed)

The shedding slowed after 2 months and my hair is now growing back. Temporary but definitely stressful.

Correct, and worth adding that it is reversible. Nothing being described here is a one-way door, which changes how cautious it is reasonable to be.

Same pattern here, and in the same order.

From the other side of the consultation, briefly. It helps to say which part of this you are uncertain about. A precise question gets a precise answer; a general one gets everybody’s favourite anecdote.
