The advanced lipid panel is next level. Most people only look at basic cholesterol numbers but the particle size and count data tells a much more nuanced story. Your shift from pattern B (small dense) to pattern A (large buoyant) is exactly what cardiologists want to see. Your pharmacy savings point is something nobody talks about enough. If the GLP-1 costs $X per month but eliminates $Y per month in other medications plus reduces future healthcare costs from diabetes/cardiovascular complications... the math works out even from a pure cost perspective.

Adding a pre-diabetic perspective. My numbers weren't as dramatic because I caught things earlier, but they're still meaningful. 44M, semaglutide 1.7mg, 7 months, 38 lbs lost (228→190). | Marker | Before | After 7mo | |--------|--------|----------| | A1C | 6.3% | 5.2% | | Fasting glucose | 114 | 87 | | HOMA-IR | 4.8 | 1.6 | | Triglycerides | 188 | 96 | | HDL | 38 | 47 | | LDL | 134 | 112 | | CRP | 3.2 | 0.7 | | ALT | 38 | 18 | The HOMA-IR going from 4.8 to 1.6 is the biggest deal for me. That's a measure of insulin resistance and mine went from highly resistant to normal. My endocrinologist said I've likely prevented the progression to full Type 2 diabetes. Prevention doesn't have the drama of reversal, but it's arguably even more valuable.

This thread is a goldmine. I'm seeing consistent patterns across everyone's data: 1. A1C improvements of 1-3 points (universally) 2. Triglyceride reductions of 40-60% (the most dramatic lipid change) 3. HDL increases of 30-60% (takes longer, happens consistently) 4. CRP reductions of 60-80% (suggests major anti-inflammatory effects beyond weight loss) 5. Liver enzyme normalization (suggesting NAFLD improvement) The CRP pattern is particularly interesting because some research suggests GLP-1 agonists have anti-inflammatory effects independent of weight loss. The magnitude of CRP reduction across this thread seems to support that. Thank you all for sharing. Real-world data like this complements clinical trials beautifully.
