Nine weeks flat after five months of steady loss, same dose, same routine, and I cannot tell whether to wait or change something.

What I am after is how to distinguish a genuine plateau from measurement noise and creeping intake, before changing anything.

I have searched first, so if this is covered somewhere point me at it and I will read it.

Plateau breaking story with a stall: I stalled at 205 lbs for 7 weeks. Tried everything — calorie cycling, increased exercise, more water. Nothing worked.

What finally broke the plateau: a brief dose increase followed by return to maintenance. Lost 12 lbs in the next 3 weeks. Plateaus are temporary — they always break if you stay consistent.

No disagreement with LabKate. One condition attached. Genuine plateaus happen too, and the mechanism is metabolic adaptation plus a smaller body. A body 20kg lighter needs meaningfully fewer calories at rest and less to move, so the deficit that produced the first phase is arithmetically smaller now. The options are the honest ones — increase the deficit slightly, increase activity, or accept the new plateau — and escalating the dose is only one of them.

I would rather be corrected than agreed with, if it comes to it.

Adding a me-too, because a thread of one person's experience is not much use. The detail I would add is minor and it is already implied above.

From the other side of the consultation, briefly. If two explanations both fit, the useful question is which one predicts something the other does not. That is answerable; arguing about which sounds more plausible is not.

Amazing transformation! Starting at 287 lbs, I'm now at 162 lbs after 18 months on semaglutide 2.4mg/wk. These photos show my progress at months 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, and 18. The body recomposition has been incredible — DEXA shows 23% body fat, down from 42%...
