Building out my garage gym specifically around my needs as a GLP-1 user (Mounjaro 10mg). After 9 months on tirz and losing 67 lbs, I'm shifting focus to body recomposition. Here's what I've got so far: - Adjustable dumbbells 5-52.5 lbs (Bowflex 552s) — £299 - Flat/incline bench — £149 - Pull-up bar (doorframe) — £25 - Resistance bands set — £30 - Yoga mat — £20 Total: about £523. What am I missing? Budget is another £500 or so. Main goals are building muscle to prevent the "deflated" look and keeping bone density up.

Solid start. If I had £500 more I'd prioritise in this order: 1. Olympic barbell + weight plates (100kg set) — ~£250-300. Nothing replaces compound barbell movements for muscle building. Squats, deadlifts, rows, overhead press. 2. Squat rack/stands — ~£150. Safety is key when lifting alone. 3. Kettlebell (16kg or 20kg) — ~£40. Turkish get-ups and swings are incredible for the core work you need during major weight loss. Skip the machines. Free weights recruit more stabiliser muscles and you'll build more functional strength.

Don't forget a foam roller and lacrosse ball! Like £15 total and essential for recovery. My physiotherapist said GLP-1 users who are losing weight quickly need to be extra careful about muscle recovery because we're often in a caloric deficit even when trying to eat at maintenance. I foam roll for 10 minutes after every session and it's made a huge difference in my DOMS.

good shout on the barbell setup. Found a Mirafit M3 bar with 100kg bumper plates for £280 on sale. And a squat stand for £130. That's £410, leaves me room for the kettlebell. What weight kettlebell would you recommend? I'm currently benching the 35lb dumbbells for reference.

My setup cost under £200 total and I've made incredible progress on Wegovy: - TRX suspension trainer (knockoff brand) — £35 - Set of 3 resistance bands (light/medium/heavy) — £20 - Ab wheel — £12 - Jump rope — £8 - 2x 20kg adjustable dumbbells — £90 - Pull-up bar — £25 I follow Caroline Girvan's YouTube programmes and they're absolutely brutal with just dumbbells and bodyweight. Her EPIC programme is 10 weeks and I've done it twice now. Went from struggling with bodyweight squats to doing 20kg goblet squats for 4x12.
