Adding the clinical framing, because it changes how the question reads.

Pregnancy after maintenance dosing weight loss: stopped GLP-1 medication 3 months before TTC as recommended. Was terrified of regaining weight during pregnancy.

Worked closely with my OB and MFM. Gained 22 lbs during pregnancy (within recommended range). Baby is healthy. The metabolic improvements from pre-pregnancy weight loss gave both of us a healthier pregnancy.

If you're planning pregnancy, discuss the medication discontinuation timeline with your OB. GLP-1 agonists are NOT safe during pregnancy.

Mine went the same way, slower. Posting only so the count is not one.

There is a second half to this that has not been said yet. The honest range is roughly 20 to 40% of total loss as lean mass without deliberate resistance training, and roughly 10 to 20% with it plus adequate protein. Both numbers need a caveat that matters: "lean mass" on a DEXA is not muscle. It includes water, glycogen and the lean fraction of organs, and glycogen alone carries about three grams of water per gram. A large early lean drop is mostly the glycogen and water going, which is why the first scan flatters and the second is the honest one.

One concrete data point for the thread. One practical note: write down what you did and when, before you need it. Reconstructing a timeline from memory three months later is how people end up unable to answer the one question that would have resolved it.

Closing the loop on my own question.

Second scan under matched conditions, six months apart, same time of day: the lean number came back nearly a kilo higher than the panic scan. Strength was up throughout.
